National Talent Initiative Opens Applications for 15 International Placements with the World Bank Group

The UAE's National Talent Development Initiative has opened applications for the World Bank Group Explorers Program, which will provide 15 outstanding Emirati graduates with the opportunity to work and learn in the World Bank Group country offices around the world over a two-year period.
Launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, the program marks the first international placement opportunity under the National Talent Development Initiative. It offers young Emiratis the opportunity to engage directly with international development initiatives while gaining professional experience in diverse international work environments.
The program is supported by the UAE Aid Agency, the Office of Development and Fallen Heroes' Families Affairs, and ADGM Academy. It is also supported by several outreach partners such us the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi. For two years, participants will work within World Bank Group country offices, contributing to projects spanning artificial intelligence, digital development, agriculture, water security, investment, sustainability, economics, and public policy.
Each participant will work alongside development professionals and international experts, while receiving guidance and support from a dedicated mentor throughout the program. Participants will also contribute to live development projects, gaining first-hand insight into how development programs are designed and implemented in different parts of the world.
Applications are open from June 15 to July 15, 2026. Following a competitive selection process, 15 Emirati graduates will be selected to join the inaugural cohort. Selected participants will take part in a one-week onboarding program in September, before they embark on their international placements across the World Bank Group's global network.
The program is open to Emirati graduates with outstanding academic achievement who are interested in working in international environments. It is designed for those who aspire to contribute to development projects that have a tangible impact on communities.
Through these experiences, participants will work alongside international development experts, gain practical insight into the challenges and opportunities facing communities and economies around the world, and contribute to projects aimed at improving lives and supporting sustainable development.
