The Network Forensics Essentials programme develops core network digital forensics capabilities through hands-on analysis of real network traffic in a controlled Cyber Arena environment. Participants learn how to inspect PCAP files using Wireshark, correlate network traffic with firewall logs and SIEM events, and apply reverse analysis techniques to reconstruct the timeline of an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) intrusion.
The training emphasises practical investigation skills required to detect, analyse, and interpret suspicious or malicious network activity. Through guided exercises and simulated attack scenarios, participants extract Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), understand attacker behavior, and build a forensic narrative aligned with enterprise incident response workflows.
