Drill Bits and Hydraulics Programme

Tech Centre EnerTech Lab Drill Bits and Hydraulics Programme

Programme Overview

This programme focuses on the critical interface between the bit and the rock. It provides a deep dive into cutter technology, rock failure mechanisms, and the fluid dynamics required to clean the hole and cool the bit. Participants will learn to optimise jet impact force and hydraulic horsepower to maximise ROP while preventing bit balling and tool wear.

Programme Benefits Programme Modules ADGM Academy ADGM Academy Certificate of Completion Five Days
Programme Benefits
Optimise rock destruction by matching bit cutter geometry to specific formation geomechanical properties.
Maximise Rate of Penetration (ROP) through the precise calculation of bit hydraulics and nozzle configurations.
Extend bit life and reduce tripping costs by mastering dull grading analysis and failure diagnosis.
Improve hole cleaning efficiency by balancing flow rates, mud rheology, and hydraulic impact forces.
Who is the Programme for?

This programme is for drilling Engineers and rig-site personnel focused on performance, efficiency, and tool longevity.
